REALLY! with Josh Peek

It's time for a game of really with Josh Peek. Really! I wish that my band could call doing local show only on the weekends a tour, but I guess I have a different definition. Good job all you musicians going on your arduous treck of less than 100 miles in your private vehicles. Really! I was under the impression that a tour was something you did with simultaneous dates on a plane or bus across long distances for an extended period of time. Correct me if I'm wrong. Really!!!

money and the music

True the music can set you free, but only so far without money. Money for an album money for copy writes, equipment, gas, new equipment, promotion(self, radio, and event), Murphy's Law, and many other expenses along the way.
If you think long and hard about why you don't hear your favorite underground band on the radio. The answer in simply money. Everyone wants to make it to the top, but there is only enough money at the top to sustain so many artists. Take Nashville for example they have the to push about 30 artist at a time. 20 of those thirty are sure to be in the top 20 countdown. They only save the millions it take to promote these artists for the sure bets.
One of these days i too will have money to promote and record a new cd. Until then its beans and cornbread, natty's and fritos.

New Places, New Faces

Thanks to all who came out in the pouring rain at the Kendall County Fair Labor Day Weekend to see Josh and Chris Brade play. The pavillion started to flood but Josh and the band kept the music going! Thanks to Kim and everyone at Kendall County Fair for their enormous hospitality. We were also grateful to meet some new friends - Chris & Dawn Brade, and Chris's band. Chris is an outstanding singer and entertainer. If you missed him, you need to check him out next time he's in the area. Look him up on MySpace for his schedule. We enjoyed spending time with them and enjoyed Chris's show and look forward to working with them more in the future. We caught the Aaron Watson show (AWESOME SHOW BTW!) with them and also attended Chris's show at Longhorn Saloon in Bandera.

If you didn't notice, Josh did not make the top 20 in the ACL Sound & Jury contest but we thank everyone for their support and hard work in getting votes.

Josh and the band have been hitting up some new places and are grateful for meeting new friends and fans! Thanks to everyone who came out to see the band at Love and War in Texas in Plano as well as Riley's Tavern in Hunter. We hope to get back to both places soon.

We'll be hanging around the Hill Country for the next month, but come check out a show if you're in the area. Keep an eye out for some new stuff happening with the band - if you're on the mailing list - GET ON IT! That's the best way to be in the know.

If you know of a place you'd like to see the band play near you, please email Josh and let that place know you want to see Josh Peek in there!

Other than that, not a whole lote going on with the band right now - just living life off stage. Keep an eye out for a Takamine guitar, we're still looking for Josh's stolen guitar and we're still taking donations (see home page) for a replacement and appreciate any help from friends.

Stay tuned for the next peek ... :)
